Noninvasive Neurostimulation

(aka Flicker)

@ Georgia Institute of Technology

As a postdoctoral fellow, I investigated how non-invasive audio-visual neurostimulation at 40Hz (gamma flicker) alters microglia's morphology and the potential role of NFkB signaling in flicker's effects in a mouse model.

3D printed and customized mouse chambers controlled by Arduinos to condition audiovisual gamma flicker with reward (Design - undergraduate student researcher, PURA recipient Christopher He). Chris's low-cost design facilitates open science and collaboration as this design is available for free online, is easily modifiable, and cost $60 to build.
